Job-application not considered, how to follow-up?

Received email notification that my resume could not been taken into consideration for interview invitation and job as already been filled by another candidate.

How do you suggest to follow-up and say thank you for looking into the resume? Should I ask to consider my resume for later/other jobs or not talk about that at all, and start the complete process again, when same company does have another job offer (in future)?

Thanks, Simka

The most professional response would probably be a brief note thanking them for informing you, and to express your interest in the company by saying that you would be happy to be considered for any similar positions opening up in the future.

Absolutely with J - that's the perfect response to a rejection email. I always remember these.
On the other hand I've received abusive emails, phone calls etc and they are also remembered but for all the wrong reasons!!!
Good luck in your job search Simka.
