At home and at work, I'd always been a Perfectionist (2266) pattern (aka high-S, high-C), but in the last year I've clearly become a Creative (5127) pattern (aka high-D, high-C) at work.
So, serious drop in S, serious rise in D, which I'm not unhappy about...I'm more effective (task-wise) at work and at home, and my relationships are as good (and effective) as they've ever been.
It feels more like I've actually cultivated some latent capabilities (versus 'adapting' my communication style). I feel like I've really transformed myself.
Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Yes, kinda
Hi Jason,
Very interesting question. I think you'll see arguments that will say your true style hasn't changed even though your actual style at work is very different. This could well be because you have deliberately cultivated skills not normally natural to you because you recognised that you needed those skills to be effective in your role - such as driving for results. Equally, you may have many bad points of your natural style under control if behaving that way is unhelpful to your role.
If you do this long enough, it can be difficult to separate natural behaviour style from the style you actually exhibit and that has become your habit. At work I don't view myself as a particularly high D because I've been achieving results through growing, developing, coaching and challenging my teams for more than 15 years. My true score for D is still a 7, but for the most part, I keep the negative aspects of being a D at bay. I don't burn people to get results and I make sure I give credit for any results to my team. The average tenure in my team is 8+ years with many over 10.
So while I am naturally a 7225, I behave in a more balanced way at work with my directs and extended teams because being more balanced is more effective.
To be honest, I only discovered DISC this year, and I find it a facinating area of study. I've discovered that while I'm more balanced with my directs and external customers, I've not been as balanced or adaptable with my peers and bosses. This has finally explained the comments I received in my 360 which I had never really understood until now.
I am also more clearly my natural 7225 when I'm at home and I have thus found a whole area where I can make adjustments that I hadn't ever considered before.
So if I make adjustments and live and breathe a more balanced and effective behaviour profile, have I changed, or am I still what I always was with a layer of mental control over the top? Great question.

Somewhere in the middle there, your DISC profile might undergo change.
