There is an interesting article about a companies that has taken up silent meeting via Skype.

My first reaction was “what!!?”, but reading through, there may be a place for it. The guy who wrote the article certainly thinks it’s the best thing since slice bread with his comment “Two years into holding silent meetings, the benefits just keep appearing”

Interesting but...
would make my head explode! With my personality, I could not stand the silence.
On a serious note, I would worry that everyone understands the topic. When you are speaking with people, sometimes you need to use multiple examples to get the point accross.
