It would be great if you could subscribe to a thread and get notified (like you do for PMs) that there is an update.

Just something for your parking lot list.

I find that the RSS feed service works very well as an alternative for this request. The subject line remains the same throughout the dialog and this is very helpful in watching for a thread you have an interest in. The main problem is if the updates are infrequent you tend to forget you had an interest in the topic.
