Are there any plans or previous thoughts on assembling an online content package that would be similar to the Effective Manager Conferences?

I've never been to an Effective Manager Conference and most likely won't be able to attend for a little while. So I couldn't help myself wonder if there would be a way to put together some online curriculum. Composed of MT Podcasts (the Basics and others), some Premium Content documents/slides, and other educational material that I assume is used in the Effective Manager Conferences. Think of this as sort of an online course or version of the Effective Manager Conf.

What are your thoughts? Wild idea or what?

Best regards,

Nate

It's definitely something we've talked about.  We've been trying to figure out how to deliver it, and how to include video effectively.
We'll keep you posted.

Hi M&M,
I had coffee with a guy whose business is taking curricular materials and moving into an on-line instructional environment.  I believe he converts the video into flash. If you are looking for firms or outside expertise I can pass the information along. I suspect you and Mike have an extensive network of IT professionals to contact! :-)

Send me the information (PM, if you'd prefer) and I'll put them on my list to contact when we get to that point.

Thanks!
Mike

We have been trying to figure out how to deliver HR training and such to our far-flung employees. Thanks!

I'm glad its in the back of your minds. It really would be neat to have something with web video tutorials and the like. I'm sure it would be a successful addition to the MT resources.

Is this something that you're thinking of offering similarly to the Interview Series?  That is individuals buy it for their own use only.  Or is it something you're thinking may be more for professional trainers/organisations to license for use in training courses (internal or otherwise)?  Or both?

Yes, we're thinking of offering the conference to individuals as as online course.  It's not as easy as we'd like, however.  The interactivity is hard to reproduce online, obviously.  We could be fostering really bad practice...which leads to bad results.
And, yes, we have plans for Train the Trainer as well.  That has always been in our minds, but it's also challenging.  We would require someone to be SIGNIFICANTLY GOOD to deliver our stuff, and it would include them presenting to us the conference to ensure quality.  It's not just the concepts, it's the credibility, it's the delivery skills, it's the interactivity.  I'm a skilled presenter, and it's a HARD, HARD 1-2 days.
